French and Indian War

Served as a private in Lieutenant Joshua Merriam's company of Colonel John Chandler's regiment in the Massachusetts militia forces that marched for the relief of Fort William Henry from Charlton to Sheffield, a distance of 98 miles from August 10 through 18, 1757.
