Beadle Graves

This photograph of the gravestones of John Beadle and Eunice Barker Beadle was taken in September 1972 and is in the possession of Herbert Arthur Huston. The graves are at Center Street Cemetery. The cemetery is on Center Street (State Route 150) between South Orchard Street and South Colony Street (U.S. Route 5) in Wallingford, Connecticut, at Latitude 41° 27.3′ North, Longitude 72° 49.4′ West. The flag was placed by the Daughters of the American Revolution.

The monument on the left is inscribed:


	In memory of Capt. John Beedles [sic]

	who died Aug. 15 A.D. 1798 ae 57 [sic]



	Now I the shade of Death have Past

	Where men must all retire at last.

The monument on the right is inscribed:


	Mrs. Eunice Hall, late wife of Mr.

	Hezikiah Hall & formerly the wife of

	Capt. John Beadle, who died Oct. 4th

	1823 in the 79th year of her age.



	No, I'll repine at death no more

	But with a cheerful voice resign

	To the cold dungeon of the grave

	These dying, withered limbs of mine.
